iCloud Pages didn't save

I opened pages in safari/icloud on my mac. I made a new document. started working for over 2 hours in it. In that time I used an other tab to google information I needed. After 2 hours I went to my work. My iMac was still on. When I returned after work my iMac had restarted. ( update I think ) and pages only saved the first 20 minutes of my work. I can get in to previous versions. it saved avery 2 to 3 minutes before that point but not the almost 1.5 hours after that.

Is there anyway to get my work back? Am I wrong in thinking that pages in Icould does an auto saver every couple of minutes?
